Even if you are disappointed in Obama, isn't the SCOTUS enough reason to VOTE for him? |
|
The next justice appointed will serve 20-30 years. Do you want a GOP president making that pick?
Don't let your disappointment in Obama, and I have plenty myself, cause a GOP idiot to take charge!

All this talk about "voting your best interest"..... and laughing at people who don't. Yet, NOTHING is given to poor folk... MORE IS TAKEN AWAY, but we should CARE about YOUR scotus?
Politics 101... if you want votes from people, you SUPPORT THEIR NEEDS.
And don't give me that tired shit about Palin. Enough of that garbage.

about getting through the DAY, being able to eat, and, hopefully, have a roof over your head.
THOSE are the needs that are being ignored.
Continue that route at your own peril.

22. we understand that, the problem is that the things settled in the court |
|
have an impact on the poor
Citizens United is allowing huge amounts of unregulated anonymous money into our political system. This will help elect more people who only care about the wealthy and are against any help at all for the poor.
We know that nobody cares about who is on the court when they don't know where there next meal is coming from. We also know that allowing the wrong people to continue to gain power just makes things worse.

When a poor woman gets pregnant and wants/needs an abortion, SCOTUS matters. Rich women have ALWAYS been able to get abortions, either by paying doctors under the table or traveling to where it's legal and safe. Getting through the DAY is sometimes about ending a pregnancy you can't afford.
Continue that route at your own peril.

the Republican plan (Paul Ryan gave a pretty clear voice to it) or the Democratic plan (we'll see this week how that shakes out).
Just because you seem to get off pretending other people lack compassion in somewhat meaningless replies doesn't make this choice any less real.

I won't vote or campaign for Obama because of the Supreme Court.
What is enough is the fact that Obama is the only sane voice available. We aren't going to solve anything by just cutting our way out of it Ryan style and we aren't going to do by just raising taxes on the rich.
Obama is the one I trust to actually be able to balance cuts and tax increases to the point that we may be able to dig out of the pile of shit we managed to skillfully build for ourselves over the last decades.
Republicans have been very successful in cutting taxes and increasing spending to the point that we are pretty much fucked. The main goal of assholes like Grover Norquist is to make Government too expensive to function and they have damned near accomplished that. We're to the point now where such a huge part of every dollar that goes to the feds goes directly to the Chinese to cover interest payments.
We are in for a really nasty bunch of time and Obama is the one that I trust to get us through it while managing to not destroy everything along the way.

17. Yes, among other reasons. |
|
Many on the left would criticize my position, but it is simply too risky to open the doors to a political faction that does quite literally encompass fascist elements. Militia, "white patriots," "Tea Party," and so on have their choice. They made their choice because they know that the Republicans will attempt to erode liberal-democratic institutions, and put in their place Pinochet-type, supra-electoral power - more corporate rule, privatization of essential government functions, etc.

20. This is not a sufficient re-election strategy |
|
He will lose the masses with this strategy. Considering how many judge appointments are CURRENTLY DEAD IN THE WATER, it really doesn't matter if Obama is re-elected if he is too weak and cowardly to appoint liberals and get them confirmed.
Your argument is also, sadly, too politically sophisticated for the large masses of voters who don't have the acumen of even a 1970's schoolhouse rock cartoon.
Today, with Obama's announcement of going after entitlements, he truly has as much chance of getting re-elected as he does of being appointed Imperial Wizard.

36. Nope. I want to see people suffer, |
|
just so I can make my point that Obama is responsible for everything wrong everywhere at all times.
I'd rather have the Republicans with their foot deep up in all of our asses, taking all of our money and giving it to the ultra rich forever more, while laughing madly that they got that guy out of office, than for me to have that Obama back in the White House. I'd rather he go off on the speaking circuit, write books, while we turn into the kind of country that we were in the 1930s. I owe that to myself since I care so much about the issues, and have talked so much about how I can't stand this guy, who is the worse President in history thus far....so much so, that I'm willing to let the Republicans have it totally their way, while I spit on Pres. Obama's whatever.
It's not my fault I feel this way...but I know that what I feel personally about this man is worth throwing the entire nation and any future it could have away. That I do know for sure.
