If you do not want the Tea Party Terrorists to win - this is what needs to happen.
Home care workers, immigrants and union members were among the thousands of demonstrators who gathered in Olympia, Washington, Friday to protest a new state budget plan and corporate tax breaks. On Saturday, the Washington State House of Representatives passed a budget bill slashing $4.4 billion from state programs. The new budget cuts $485 million from higher education and another $216 million from programs aimed at reducing class size for young students. More than a dozen protesters were arrested last Thursday after trying to storm the office of Gov. Chris Gregoire.

The Tea Party Terrorist movement have been able to shift the argument to not whether to cut spending but by how much.

This argument needs real debate.

3. Get the argument right.
If corporations paid what they owed there would be no need to cut spending or raise taxes.

4. I've got it right.
If we raise taxes on those who have too much, we can do even more for everybody.

Why set the bar at the status quo?

5. As we are not anywhere near where the pretend status quo is.
Small businesses are screwed by high taxes but large corporations pay absolutely nothing, not only do they pay nothing they want and get big tax subsidies.

Try that as a small firm.

7. Perhaps we should be.
AT&T was broken up once before, back in the days of 'Ma Bell'. So we KNOW it's POSSIBLE.

Maybe if we could crack multinationals up enough that they come down out of the stratosphere of power they CAN pay taxes like small firms. IF that were so, we could actually lower the amount paid by the true current small firms and still make a substantial amount of additional revenue for the government, and that's ~before~ raising taxes on the wealthy.

8. Exactly the point.
It is morally wrong that the company making billions of dollars pays less in tax than the person employed to clean the toilets.

2. Washington voters left the governor with little choice.
Last November they voted to repeal a temporary tax on soda and candy, and also to require a 2/3 majority for any increase in taxes or fees. So the only way to close the budget gap is to cut spending.
