Chicago may drop ban on protests at religious services
A protest last year outside the Church of Scientology of Illinois headquarters in Chicago’s Lake View community has prompted the city to stop enforcing an ordinance that prohibits protests where religious services are being held.

The issue arose late last year, when protesters gathered outside the Church of Scientology, 3011 N. Lincoln Ave. In response, church members taped a sign to the front window, announcing that services were held virtually all day — from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
