Poll question: If not Obama, who?
Who will you vote for in the 2012 presidential election?

"the president.”

“He is absolutely, categorically not running in 2012." “He supports President Obama in 2012 and he has repeatedly said so publicly.”

Though I find it odd that you would support Dean, who repeatedly says we need to cut spending on Social Security and Medicare on the Rachel Maddow show. In fact, he said anyone who thinks we don't need to cut Medicare and SS "isn't serious about the deficit." It created somewhat of a hubbub on DU.

Do you support SS cuts and Medicare cuts, so long as they are proposed by someone other than Obama?

25. Here is a transcript of what Howard Dean said on the Rachel Maddow Show on November 29, 2010.
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 02:42 AM by BzaDem
"MADDOW: Do you think that they are powerful enough and that they are serious enough about that message that we could see things on the chopping block that are usually protected? Things like defense?

DEAN: I think you could, if everybody‘s willing to give something. If we were to raise taxes on the people who could well afford it, which is people who make over a quarter of million dollars a year, if we were then to look at cutting defense and cutting Social Security growth and cutting Medicare growth in a serious way, then you have the formula for dealing with the deficit. But if you leave one of those things out, none of this is going to work and everybody better get that message."

Do you believe it now?

27. I hope Dean misspoke - otherwise, it's very disturbing
Medicare growth needs to be curbed, of course, as it's absurd. That's easily done by implementing a world-class health insurance system, such as the one candidate Obama ran on, which would slash health care costs.

Social Security is a debt owed to recipients.
