Been a tough 2 days, and tough few weeks. Could use some good thoughts (and I caught some thieves )
Last few weeks have been difficult. My X has gotten sicker, she has rheumatoid arthritis now on top of Parkinson's and is on some really powerful meds. One is a cancer drug and she will lose her hair and it knocks her on her butt for days (she only takes it once a week).

I have taken time off work not only to help out with our daughter and her schooling, but also because of my own mental issues (this has brought up a lot of latent issues). My brother has been off work for 6 months or so, had a mental break down but is getting better. His wife is ill, has had two surgeries and has a nurse who comes to the house daily.

Sunday
I got up and hit the restroom and was going back to bed, then decided to make a sandwich. I looked outside and there were two guys at my X's old house. They had an SUV and a trailer with a mower on it. They were taking pics of my X's old house and talking to a neighbor. I was suspicious.

My X and her husband still have a lot of stuff at their old house (space issues) and the house is in foreclosure. I called her (she lives down the street from me) and let her know that these guys were there and they took an aluminum boat from the back yard and were loading it up. She and her husband would be right down.

I went over and confronted the guys. They said they were with the bank and had to clean out the property. I told them the owner would be right down as I had just called him, I also noted that they were in the process of removing the rest of the stuff from the property. They were 'sympathetic' and put the boat back in the yard, said their boss would be there in 45 minutes and that they would just 'pretend' like they had not got to this property yet....

After they left I called the police and gave them the license number. Turns out, as I suspected, these guys were just after stuff to recycle.

But...
My X and her husband were stressed over it all, not sure if these guys were from the bank, and decided to move all they could that day.

After one load her husband was not feeling well, my X wanted to call an ambulance for him but he did not think it was a big deal. I hung out with her, helping her go through things, load things into my van, etc.

I was fixing baby girl some dinner when the phone rang, it was my X calling from the ER. She had called 911 and her husband was taken in, his blood sugar over 680. I went and picked her up (she rode in the ambulance and did not have a ride). She dropped me off at home and later they both came back. She was wiped out, could hardly walk, and he was still sick.

Monday/Today
She called me early and woke me up. I took her to the store to drop off his prescriptions and left my van with her. 2 hours later she called me crying, squad was on the way. Could I walk down, get the van and follow her to the hospital?

Her husband is now in ICU. I went to be with her, walked in and went to the second floor to sit with her and as I walked down the hall I broke down. This was the floor mom was on when she got so sick and died. It was weird.

She could not stay the night, so I am now here with her at her house waiting to hear more, going to take her back to the hospital in the morning. She is finally sleeping.

She can barely care for herself much of the time, her husband may have a long road ahead of him to get better (if he does get better), and to top it all off when I was here at her house today with my daughter feeding the cats, fish, and dog my daughter found the fish in her room had died (the fish in the big tank are ok).

There is a lot more, but I am too tired to express it right now. Could just use some good vibes.

Needed to rant somewhere, X and daughter are asleep finally. I hope to get some rest soon as well.

...the last couple of years have been brutal for so many people, but I will share with you what people share with me when I'm in need of vibes of my own: We really are all in this together, so hang in there. We'll watch your back.

And get some sleep.
