Feeding the Empire at the Expense of the Children: WIC spending cut, Pentagon spending increased

The $504 million cut in WIC can be found at the above link.

<edit>

Every broad category of government receives a reduction in funding levels, with the exception of two: The Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Pentagon would end up with a boost of about $5 billion above last year's level. At the same time, the bill would slash $4.2 billion in military earmarks -- a type of spending Republicans have vowed to eliminate from the budget.

The Department of Veterans Affairs' budget would increase by $600 million over fiscal year 2010, an increase that is accomplished by reducing funds for military construction by about $10 billion while boosting spending on veterans' health care and benefits.

3. Freezing the pentagons budget
then working on accross the board cuts every year would be a good start.

Maybe set it at 1% less every year starting today. Doesn't sound like much but with inflation that will amount to a significant drop over time.

And it won't be so severe that they will be unable to adapt and plan ahead. Trim down to just the essentials.

The budget calls for $156 billion for the actual wars we are fighting against the, uh, hmmm.

Who is it we are at war against?
I forgot.
Oh yeah, duh!, 19 airplane hijackers. I'm sure we'll get 'em one day. We'll smoke 'em out.

7. As surely as if there were an actual alter in the Pentagon Plaza where
a child is snuffed every hour on C-Span as a public sacrifice to the gods of mammon and death.

It is truly mind-boggling how US keeps endlessly throwing good money after bad, for endless wars on foreign shores that happened to have scads of oil and poppies, against everyone and no-one, against a strategic mindset called "Terrah", meaning anyone who might not play by the normal rules of engagement, meaning everyone is a suspect until proven otherwise, meaning you get groped against your will at airports; and all the while the architects of this collective madness hide behind the curtain smirking at the misery and horror being unleashed on innocents. It's not even about "collateral damage" anymore, it's straight-up murder pure and simple. Excuse me while I go :puke:
