Baby eaglet #1 wandering around the nest, panting
His/her mouth is gaping and tongue hanging out, panting hard. Must be hard work doing all the moving about.

Maybe a fish is in order?

2. OMG...they are so cute! Mom really has her hands (wings) full now!
She acts a little nervous when eaglet #1 starts walking around. They're getting so big!

3. A little while ago, #1 and #2 were both wandering around
and #3 was trying to get out but mom kept moving to keep the third one in place, you could see on her face "oh no you don't!"

I really wonder why #1 is panting so hard. I hope he's ok. He looks like he needs a drink.

5. maybe they have to climb a bit now?

Now that the parents dug a deeper hole in the center, maybe it's taking some effort for them to climb out of there?

Just like a mom of three little kids!

4. Did you see this video from last night?
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 12:15 PM by Autumn Colors
I posted it in a thread this morning that sank fast...

Apparently there was an owl nearby last night and both parents were in the nest defending.

6. Yes, saw that, thanks for posting the link
But I had the sound off so I probably didn't get the full effect. They were probably really loud, from the looks of it.

10. I watched that when I logged on this computer today and it was great! It was a relief to hear
the owl at a distance towards the end of the video.

Good Mommy and Daddy eagles!!!

14. Younger
The first two hatched a day apart, but the third one hatched 4 days after the first.

15. It seems they are still having breathing issues
Mom is panting with her mouth open, and one of the babies is breathing hard.

I wonder if they ate a poisened animal? I hope not, but it seems like it could happen.
