For a long time we've known that the Republicans didn't give a crap for "the little people", but with the Democrats, it has mostly been all smoke & mirrors as well. They've often tossed us a bone and called it a steak while continuing to line their own pockets. This is why we are where we are today ... close to government bankruptcy.
The dues of Medicare & Social Security are starting to come in, and no longer are these fat cat, lying politicians able to find the extra spending money for themselves that they once had, now that babyboomers are starting to use the money for retirement. So now it is time for them to basically "renege on the deal" ... to "get out of the promise". And even if they keep the promise of these entitlements going, it will be at the expense of the middle-class, not the wealthy. The wealthy & corporations will, once again, squeal that they are paying for everything, then snicker in the corners as they watch "the little people" drown in their crappy lies of deception.
One of the biggest problems I see with our government representatives is that their reckless & irresponsible decisions (both parties) do not seem to impact them in the least because of all their congressional PERKS. If you do a research on congressional perks, you will find some astounding information. Even their meals are free with the bottomless credit cards they are given for regular meals that they call business entertainment. When they have meetings, they don't cart in sandwiches, people ... we're talking serious menus. Why do you think so many of these jerks are so overweight ... especially Republicans? Each are given $1 million + budgets for staff expenses, free parking, free health care & retirement for LIFE, plus they get "under the table pay" for pushing useless services & projects that cost tax payers billions. Many even get subsidies of hugh amounts ... X-Sen. Faircloth, NC was getting over $135,000 a year of federal farm subsidies to NOT GROW tobacco on his farmland. This is ridiculous ... hell, tell me what type of tobacco you DON'T WANT ME TO GROW to get $135,000 a year, and I won't grow it either.
How can we take the perks away from our congressional representatives?
