California cat shot in head with arrow, survives

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A northern California cat that survived being shot through the head with an arrow was recuperating from surgery on Tuesday, apparently little worse for the wear, authorities said.

Max, a three-year-old black and white cat owned by a Santa Cruz area couple, was apparently shot with the arrow sometime over the weekend, a fact his owners discovered on Sunday evening.

"According to the owners, the cat had been missing for two days and when they opened their front door the cat came in," Santa Cruz County Animal Services Manager Todd Stosuy told Reuters.

"That's when the owners, much to their shock, saw an arrow sticking out of the cat's head," he said. "The cat was acting normally, eating normally. It almost looked like one of those fake arrows."

The poor little thing jumped back through her window with the arrow still in him and died in the closet.

She didn't tell me about it - cuz she knew I would have confronted the neighbor moran who did it

right between the eyes, with an arrow. Also shot in the leg. He's recovering, and there's a $5,000 reward out there for information leading to whoever did it.

I love cats, I'm personally not all that crazy about dogs, but I would never never never deliberately harm one.

21. Neighborhood boys (brothers 8 & 10) shot my son's cat with an arrow

He was originally mine but I couldn't keep him when I moved back to California. Kitty came home with an arrow that entered just above his right hip at the base of the tail, continued through down the length of his back and was sticking out the left side of his neck. His vet said he'd not ever seen anything like that and luckily the arrow missed anything vital. The x-ray astounded him so much he tacked it up on the wall in his office.

Kitty is just fine though :-)

Apparently this particular family's 'problems' seem to follow them where ever they go and so they don't last very long in any neighborhood they move to.

Poor Max in that picture looks more annoyed than hurt. Sweet guy didn't deserve that. Some people are just fucking idiot assholes!
