Eureka !
The Democrats have found their issue.

But they don't know it.

The majority of the American people, including many Republicans, are sick and tired of the taxcuts for the wealthy and the role they have played in budget deficits and our overall debt.

For many, many years, Democrats have been fearful to even mention taxes. However, taxes are a necessary evil of government. If we want to keep our country, we have to ask all to contribute. The very wealthy have reaped all the rewards from the taxcuts of recent years.

If the President can muster the courage to inform the American people in a credible way, this could be the most explosive issue of the next election. It was headed that way anyway, with the expiration of the Bush taxcuts.

All Republicans in power, in Washington, will not even discuss tax increases as a credible starting point. And that is to their demise. They have boxed themselves into a corner and we should put nails into the box and keep them there.

Of course, they will talk their usual blabber about "raising taxes" on the people, etc, but it carries little weight anymore. That is why this is such a strong issue for the Democrats. This is the time. This is the issue that Democrat must embrace to be part of the solution in fixing our government.
