Jon Kyl's Office: Kyl's speech (on Planned Parenthood) "not intended to be a factual statement."
Edited on Wed Apr-13-11 08:10 AM by yellowcanine
Several days ago, Kyl took to the floor of the Senate to claim that 90 percent of Planned Parenthood’s operations were abortion services.

The actual percentage is three percent.

Kyl’s office issued a statement. Kyl’s speech, they claimed, was “not intended to be a factual statement.”

2. What the fuck does that even mean?
Is he trying to claim that he was using hyperbole to make his point? If so, why didn't he just say that? He's an ass.

4. Lies are real popular these days
In times past he'd have to fugging resign just for the comment that it was 'not intended to be a factual statement'.
ReTHUGS just make stuff up and get away with it because hacks like Gregory don't think it's their responsibility to call them on it.

5. Kyl lied on the floor of the house..intentionally lied. He didn't say
90% of 1/4 of their operations, he said 90% period. That makes it an outrageous lie.

10. Follow The Bouncing Talking Point...
Kyl wasn't the first to use this lie or the last...just echoed what is being burned into the great unhinged. It's the latest example of how the "big lie" works...say it often enough and people will believe it. This isn't meant for those of us in the reality-based world or those who let those confounded facts get in the way of things...this is just another person playing telephone in the massive attack on Planned Parenthood...using lies that they've astroturfed and perfected over the years. In our world it's an embarassing and blatant lie, in Kyl's wing nut world, it's gospel.

18. Yes, in that pack of liars, Kyl is merely the one who's honest about his lying.
Edited on Wed Apr-13-11 09:27 AM by Jim Lane
Why is everyone making fun of Kyl? He should be praised for setting a good example for the rest of the Republican caucus.

They should all admit that whatever they say is chosen for its political advantage only, and is not intended to be a factual statement.

The "reality-based community" is a place for wussy liberals, not real Americans.

Its called perjury and its against the law. Former EPA official Rita Lavelle lied to Congress about superfund sites and spent 6 months in jail.
