I'm not going to read them, comment on them, or click either recommmend or unrecommend from this point on. Such posts are simply irrelevant to the job we all face in getting things done in a decent way - a way that does the least harm to those who have been harmed already, and the most good for everyone.

I will support him if he actually fights to move in the right direction, but so far, I really can't support him in 2012.

I'll do my part, but I will also remain wary. I'm sad to say that given recent history, speeches are one thing, real actions are another. I hope that my skepticism is proved groundless.

that would hurt entitlements way too much. I can support him on the other stuff, but my idea of Democratic principles is completely against many of the commission's ideas.

We won't do it by running him down from all directions. There's plenty of opposition from the Republicans. Support is what he needs right now. Contact your legislators and support what was laid out. Give them your own ideas too, and tell them what you expect from them.

I thought it was a good speach, and I believe everything he outlined makes sense. I'll send an email to my congress critters even though they're all right wing Publicans who I'm sure will reply with a form letter spelling out why social security needs to be privatized.

Anyway, I'm totally on board with getting rid of ALL the Bush tax cuts. My wife and I together do pretty well, so our taxes will go up some (ok, not go up but revert to what they were - go up is what the Publicans want us to think) but I have no problem at all with paying my share.
