Michigan State, North Carolina commit to basketball game on aircraft carrier

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/michigan-state-north-carolina-commit-to-basketball-game-on-aircraft-carrier/2011/04/12/AFmaGBTD_story.html

DIEGO — The San Diego Sports Commission has confirmed that Michigan State and North Carolina will play in the Carrier Classic on Veterans Day, the first NCAA basketball game to be played aboard an aircraft carrier.

The commission, working with Morale Entertainment Foundation, says it has received written commitments from the two schools and that approval from the U.S. Navy is expected soon.

Organizers haven’t announced which aircraft carrier will host the Nov. 11 game.

11. Played lots of outdoor ball in Philly, if you get some practice, you adjust.
And both teams play in the same conditions.

9. I see nothing wrong with this.
If it makes the troops feel better, what is the problem? Hell, they should have a Carrier Bowl in football.

12. I do not like the association of the military with college sports
it bugs me. I hate flyovers, for example. This is like a flyover on steroids. And I'm sure Tom Izzo will find even more ways to make it tacky.
