Don't Like What's Going On?...Think About Trying This...
Hit Them In The Pocketbook...That's All They Understand.

1 - Don't buy ANYTHING but what you absolutely need to get from day-to day...week-to-week..month-to-month.

2 - Don't vote for ANYTHING that will raise your taxes...if We have to live on less...then THEY have to live on less.

3 - Don't contribute to ANYTHING...political...religious or otherwise.

3 - FILE your taxes...but DON'T send them ANYTHING...If GE can pay no taxes...so can we...heck they already have our money anyway.

Add whatever else to this list you think we can hold back to hit them where it hurts.

In the pocketbook!

1. Can I Contribute?
Gee, I would kind of like to contribute to organizations that feed the hungry.

Can I do that?

Would that mess up your plan?

Can I give spare change to the person on the street?

5. I have had a thought - Christmas without gifts
It would take some time to organize, that is why I bring it up now.
For many retailers and manufacturers (mostly overseas now) Christmas makes or breaks them.
What if we just sit one out? No presents, no big dinners, just folks getting together.

7. No Trips, Either.
Your plan has a flaw in it.

The thing about "folks getting together".

That's OK, as long as the folks getting together walk to each other's places.

No trips by car (no money to oil companies!)

No trips by plane (no money to oil companies! no money to airline corporations!)

No trips by train (you need to spend money on that!)

6. Internet Connection?
I suppose I could argue that I "absolutely need" to have an internet connection.

But do I, really? I mean, REALLY???!!!

Can you give me some advice here, please?

Should I stop paying for my internet service?

And, when I do decide to buy something, can I refuse to pay the sales tax?

"They" don't live on our taxes.

9. Here's an easy thing to do: the banks stole our money,
so take an hour or two and find a CREDIT UNION to handle your financials.
Everyone! Withdraw your money - checking, savings, whatever - from the big banks.
I can't even speak about how f'n pissed off I am with the big friggin' banks!

16. Don't buy anything manufactured in China?
Good luck with that one.

Chances are the computer you used to type your message was made in China.

Chances are parts of your car are made there.

Chances are your clothes are made there.

11. I cannot agree.
1. How does anyone stay employed if we stop purchasing?

2. Sorry, but I have to vote for schools to be rescued from this nightmare that we are going through right now. If that means raising my property taxes so be it. Our children need to be educated.

3. Don't do that anyway and I haven't contributed to a campaign since Obama.

4. Really smart, considering that shit is being cut off at the knees right now.

13. No thanks.
I don't feel like shooting myself in the foot.

Boycotting business by not buying stuff is a fool's errand. We are not longer their target market. They are looking to the emerging economies of India and China to feather their nests with. We are unimportant.

We can, however, take our money out of national and foreign banks though and put it into community banks and credit unions. We can try to pay down our credit cards and not use them. That would hurt the banksters.

Not voting is another fools errand, especially if we need to vote for taxes for badly needed programs to continue. To not vote is to allow someone else to make decisions for you.

I can agree with not contributing to religious organizations, but by not contributing to progressive candidates, who do not have Koch big bucks behind them, only keeps them out of the game.

There was a time you could file your taxes and not send them money until they demanded it, but those days are over and you will pay fines, upon fines.

I don't know where you got your ideas but they definitely are not from the left.
