"Starve the Beast."
Edited on Wed Apr-13-11 07:59 PM by Brigid
LO couldn't be more correct when he says that this has been the Republicans' stated goal for the past 30 years now. And it is painfully obvious that at no time have the deviated from that goal. Why is it that so many can't see that? Do they think they will never grow old, or sick, or both? Do they think they don't have to send their kids to school? Do they think our infrastructure maintains itself? Do they think they will never be without work? D they think they'll never need a cop or a firefighter? Seriously? We already live in a time where my freaking cats eat better than many school children, and we have threads here on DU about what our ancestors did to survive the Depression. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!! :banghead:

1. The Repukes no nothing about "beasts"
When you starve them, they get angry and most of the time you get malled.

4. I vividly remember a show about lions I saw on Animal Planet . . .
not too long ago. They were starving, and I will never forget the look of sheer desperation in their eyes. I have seen plenty of shows about lions, and I had never seen anything quite like it. Then they did something that shocked even the veteran wildlife cameraman: They attacked -- and killed -- and adult elephant. In other words, you never can tell what a starving beast will do.

2. When they try to "starve the beast", it isn't the beast that starves.
The public starves instead. And all the while, the rich and well-connected grow ever fatter and more powerful.

Time to recognize who the real beast is, and put it on a diet instead.
