Every time I fly, there are other passengers ( usually young guys) |
|
who get all antsy and want to hop out of their seat and head to the front of the plane as soon as the wheels touch the ground. "Why do we have to stay seated with our seat belts on!?!!" they whine: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7362609n

1. Is it possible they are claustrophobic? |
|
Because I don't get claustrophobic except on airplanes.

2. So injury in a ground crash should take care of that. |

4. No, I think it's typical aggressive young guy behavior. I saw the same |
|
attitude while waiting in line at the post office Saturday. Two clerks, maybe 7 people in line, I had to wait all of 3 1/2 minutes to buy my stamps. But you should have seen the 20 something guy in front of me, huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes!
They're the same people who throw away cell phones and who used to toss tape cassettes out of car windows.

It's not a problem endemic to young men alone. It's a problem endemic to those too inexperienced to have learned patience.

11. Hmmm... I think you may be right - i have seen some woung women |
|
showing the same impatience. It's laughable how proud they are of being impatient, too, like they should get a medal or something!

3. Perhaps they suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome. But there is a cure that those boys will like. |

They might not admit they're good at treating their RLS, but an effective solution is well within reach.

5. You'll get arrested trying that on a commuter jet! |

7. True, but then again, they always take the arrested passengers off first. Problem still solved. |

6. they want to be out of the plane two minutes ahead of some other people two rows behind. |
|
So they can stand around and wait for their bags at the carousel at the same time as the very last person off the plane.

9. Men like being in control of the vehicle they're in. Movement within is second best. |

I'm not a very good passenger. If there is room to walk around, I want to walk around.

10. That reminds me of my favorite travel advice: "when on a long airline flight, |
|
get up and walk around every hour or so"
As if! I think if you tried that, you'd get arrested! That's if the people around you didn't beat you to death the third time you climbed all over them getting in and out of your seat!

12. I know I wanted to get off of my last flight in a hurry |
|
There was a woman there with three little kids that she clearly couldn't handle, making noise throughout the flight. The topper was when all three of them went, "Woah, woah, woah," over and over like a Greek chorus during the last part of the landing. I imagine that the men's volleyball team from New Hampshire on the same plane didn't appreciate it, either.
