Tea Party People Staying Home Tomorrow

"For the first time since the tea party movement began two years ago, its members have not announced plans to storm the National Mall with “Don’t Tread on Me” flags on April 15. No tea party groups have applied for permits at the popular protest locale that day, according to the National Park Service."

1. They've advertised for a rally at the town square.
I'm guessing our pro-union rally of a few weeks ago will dwarf them.

2. If the Roves, Armeys, and Kochs stop organizing the TP, the TP stops. Surprised?....
....those guys have gotten what they wanted out of the Tea Party. Now they'll try something else.

10. "something else"
Egad! What monstrosity will we see next?

The GOTP is using up all their expendables... death throes, perhaps?

3. Good! They Get In The Way of My Kickball League
Last year I had to listen to that dribbling twit Victoria Jackson sing while I was trying to leg out a double. That shit is poison for the concentration. What a silly lot they were last year. Bunch of old, white folks not knowing whether to have a celebratory orgasim as one dipshit after another hit the stage, or to run in fear because there were black people looking at them.

4. tea party in disarray
Just take a look at the faces in Tea party crowds. Do you thin bk many of these middle-aged and older people are going to go out and parade to have Medicare gutted? I doubt it.

5. That's a good point
There's also a bit of split developing between the social conservatives and the fiscal conservatives that I hope add another nail to their coffin.

Welcome to DU!

6. Come to think of it, there isn't one here in the courthouse square.
They've had one every year since Obama got elected and they coincidentally redisccovered their fiscal resolve. I forgot all about it.

8. They are having three rallies in Indianapolis tomorrow...
All scheduled for the same time at the same place.

They're probably expecting 3 times the turnout.

9. That's because they don't exist....
Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 02:36 PM by chaska
There's plenty of mad hatters (mad haters?), for sure, but the tea party exist only as a name and concept handed down from on high (Kochs, Armey, et al).

I sometimes think we should steal the name away from them. Form a new group and call it the tea party. Boy, that'd piss some yokel folkel off.

11. They are one of my favorite bands!
I've been rather pissy about the appropriation of their name for heinous reasons anyway... I hear they are back together and touring this summer!! We should make them uber popular!

14. Our local teabaggers are meeting at the Red Eye Dock Bar
No shit. I just read that in the paper and laughed out loud. Go ahead and drown your sorrows you stupid motherfuckers. And since it's a waterfront bar, I mean "drown" literally.
