Are you getting money back from the IRS this year? |
|
I am but only after I changed the deduction on my paycheck earlier this year, but hey I will take it. Not a lot but enough to take me and the misses away for a weekend. :)
How about you?

4. Surprisingly, more than 3 times what I got back last year |
|
I noticed a huge difference before I even put the deductions in (I use turbotax).

6. Yes, bur only because I have my paycheck adjusted to '0' deductions. |
|
Last year I had to pay because my former employer failed to follow my request (I always put '0'). That sucked a lot. I had to pay almost $1,000. This year I got back almost $1,000 - but again it's at '0' on my paycheck. I'm a single white male with no dependents - so there you have it.

Had an unusual year, with some abnormal medical costs and casualty losses. The additional deductions made a big difference.

Could have done without the wife's spine surgery and the hail damage to the house, though.

10. The small amount (around $200) I'm due back, I'm |
|
just having credited to next year's taxes. I usually wind up owing.

16. Already did, it's in the bank, and that's a good thing as |
|
we'll be paying for college tuition for 2 next year. Gawd, the younger 2 are destined to begin university, and we've saved, saved and saved again...

17. Had to pay them $13. BUT |
|
this week I got an an unexpected check for almost $1000 from a place I worked 8 months ago (honest people are awesome), found $85 in an old purse today, and then found $21 in the back pocket of my shorts that I didn't know I had 10 minutes later, right before I mailed my $13 to the IRS.

to send a check this year.
Usually, it's real close, plus/minus a little, to zeroing out.

21. Yes, because I never claim deductions on my withholding |
|
I'd rather get a big chunk back in the spring rather than the small dribble with each paycheck and make sure I always overpay.
