Watching the Decorah Eagles ...

Tonight it looks like a really fierce wind blowing up, and it's already down to 46 deg. at 7.30 pm.

The mother has been piling up more twigs and building the sides of the nest up to protect the babies, who are huddling right under her. I hope they'll be okay through the night; it doesn't look promising right now.

I have the site bookmarked and watch on and off through the day as I work, because here in Sydney, we're about 13 hours ahead in time. It's a wonderful biology lesson for me, and there's something so beautifu and peaceful in watching nature at work.

Thanks to the DU posters who alerted me to this! I've passed it on to many friends who are also loving it.
