I got through three big ones as a child and teenager. The most bizarre one dropped a Piper cub airplane (two seater) on our street.
Guys, good luck. Tornadoes are unpredictable and scary.

The plane was empty. Our neighborhood was located a few miles from the Huntsville airport (not much of an airport then). The tornado picked up the plane carried it along and then dropped it. I learned that night that Piper cubs are very light planes. I picked up one wing and put it alongside the street, and it felt light as a feather, almost.

They say we might have more tonight as well and I'm not looking forward to it.
Good luck to the Alabama DU'ers. Hope it just flies on past all of us!

I've had this username well before I came to DU and never really thought about it - then this happened. I guess it actually has some meaning now!
