Kasich wants to privatize Ohio's workers comp system & move tax collection from local to state level
http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/morning_call/2011/04/taylor-workers-comp-reforms-up-next.html

Privatizing workers comp will of course be "a boon to insurance giants with a large presence in Ohio," as the article points out.

The consolidation of tax collections isn't explained as clearly. But you can bet it will include ways for Kasich to favor cronies and campaign donors, all the while depriving local governments of revenues and weakening them further.

All too many of the right-wing "reforms" we're seeing in various states seem designed to create increasingly powerful state governments and weakened local governments, taxpayer subsidies and privatization bonanzas for corporations who will help keep those right-wingers in power, and attempts to block federal mandates the corporations and right-wingers don't like.

2. I am surprised it isn't already privatized, it is where I live
It is mandatory and almost 10% of wages. Insurance companies making out like the bandits they are.

3. Our focus should be on the states and sustaining the activisim
started by Unions and local Democrats in states
like Ohio, Wisconsin Indiana. We need to get
all the state Democrats active.

Stop the Power Grab in the States. Howard Dean
might have some good advice.

Get the states and Obama automatically get 2ond
term.

Never forget there are more Democrats than Republicans.
The problem is they do not vote. Example Florida
could be considered a red state but there are
more Democrats than Republicans there and so
the GOP just keeps winning.

5. That's my guess. Easier to steal directly, or easier to manipulate to cut tax bills for cronies and
campaign donors, which is a way of stealing from the citizens of the state. Centralized corruption.
