not one of them understood what happened. One guy said that the Dems just wanted to make a ruckus and wern't playing fair. When in fact chaos ensued when the republicans realized they were gonna pass a bill other than ryans. The Dems weren't creating a ruckus, the just voted present.

I presume this has to do with the House Democrats voting "Present" rather than yea or nay on the Republicans' train wreck of a budget proposal. The Republicans were counting on the Democrats to help vote it down in a "stop me before I do something stupid again" moment that would let the GOP once again have the best of both worlds: A stupid "balanced" budget that was voted down by those mean old Democrats! Who would ever have guessed just how mean? Instead of stopping the little dears from running headlong into the brick wall, they just let them go ahead.

4. One lady called in and she thought seniors could pay more now days

An older lady called in and said to leave their (repuke) hands off her SS. Then some guy who claimed to be an ex-hippie with a bronx sounding accent corrected the old lady by saying people under 55 wouldn't be affected. Another lady complained about not getting a cost of living raise in SS and argued that in effect her SS has been cut. That's about all I can remember. Other than the first comment by the guy who thought Dems were throwing a fit, not one caller even had that much of a clue of what just happened.

Listening to callers on C-span sometime makes me feel embarrassed for my fellow citizens.
