They will have to vote to raise taxes on the wealthy or get tossed.

I'm going to enjoy the schadenfreud.

1. How so? What vote is looming this fall? The vote on the Senate's version of the budget?

3. Oh they'll do what they always do...
They'll fight and hem and haw and Newt will tell us again how raising taxes will cause the next depression. Then when the budget moves into a surplus... again... the Republicans will claim that the American people got screwed and send out refund checks. Wow this all sounds so familiar...

4. What makes you think that?

They don't have to do anything until after the 2012 election. The tax cuts have already been extended until then because of the deal cut between Obama and the Republicans. The media is firmly in the tax cut camp and will brand anybody wanting to repeal them a socialist/communist/marxist.

The media has also declared Ryan's budget to be bold and ground breaking. They love it. The only question is, can Obama weather the storm and take the fight to the repukes like he did in his speech earlier this week.

We shall see.

7. The media is not going to win this time regarding Ryan's budget.
The republicans have outwitted themselves by making "deficit" the issue.

They didn't give a rat's ass about "deficit" when Georgie Porgie was spending all that money. Money that was accounted for, and money that benefitted nobody except the rich.

Now all of a sudden, "deficit" is just something that we absolutely must do something about. The public knows that cutting alone isn't going to resolve the "deficit." Soon it will be time for the pipers to pay.
