My question for President Obama and DUers |
|
I will always reserve some doubts, but it seems that at leas
How can we help win Congress over to your vision on the budget?
Are there any materials we can hand out or study to prepare for discussions with other voters?
And for DUers, how do we old the President and Congress's feet to the fire so to speak? How do we let the President and Congress know how strongly we back higher taxes for the rich, maintaining Social Security and Medicare benefits at their current levels and his other budget priorities?

2. Mine probably wrote the speech. So contacting him won't help. |

Joking about his writing the speech, but what I am looking for is some sign or materials from the Obama campaign or White House that campaigner can use to point to this speech and approach to the budget.
If there aren't any such things, then I'm wondering whether the speech was a real commitment on Obama's part or perhaps yet another hot air balloon.

3. The Prez and Congress already know what people want |
|
They don't get elected by promising to increase unemployment, bankruptcies and homelessness

4. Governance is basically disfuctional in the US. Obama does not have much HOPE of getting |
|
done anything of major long-term benefit to the average person without a super-majority in congress based on a landslide election. Under normal conditions, most priorities are partisan and have to do with the next election.

5. If he really tries to enact the program he proposed in his speech this |
|
week, I would like to talk to voters and help. But I need some materials and guidance.
