Republicans say they are saving Medicare - not ending it??
Edited on Fri Apr-15-11 05:37 PM by kentuck
In effect, they are lying. They are hoping the media will let them spread that lie over and over without being called on it. After a while, people will believe the lie. That is their strategy.

The truth is that they are ending Medicare as we know it. And they are taking the money and giving another taxbreak to the wealthy. They want to cut the top taxrate to 25%. That is the truth.

They say they are going to close "loopholes" to pay for the taxcuts? What is keeping them from closing the loopholes right fucking now??

2. I blame organized religion.....
It takes blind faith and serious denial of reality to believe that kind of paradoxical shit.

14. But yet seemingly many want to go right back there. It's like the Bush years
were wiped from their memories. Beyond that, I'm convinced a fair percentage of this country is outright psychotic.

6. "It was necessary to destroy the village in order to save it"
Iconic, and probably apochryphal, radio call from Vietnam.

Fits, though.

12. The Government needs to ....
1) Stop the subsidies to the oil companies.
2) Raise taxes on the 'income' of Millionaires and Billionaires.
3) Find all the 'FRAUD' in medicare and toss those found guilty (doctors, motorized mobility scooters sellers, etc) in jail. There is tons of it there.
4) Stop funding the Congressional Delegation overseas trips.
5) Stop the use of off-shore bank accounts and make 'everyone' pay their taxes!

And do it now :)

16. They were caught in the Headlights and quick trying to change
the story line as usual. You cannot expect them
to admit they plan to do away with the safety net.

This is why I hope the Democrats have a plan to sustain
the truth from now to the election.

They are going to do their best to turn it around.

17. They can only spread this lie if the media lets them...
Democrats have to stay on the offensive on this issue. It is obvious already how they plan on "selling" it to the American people. Once it is repeated fifty times, it becomes the reality of the viewers.
