Good evening, Truthseekers! Welcome to the House of Mirrors, where nothing is it appears. Reality warps, your senses deceive you and you dare not trust what you see or hear. Yes, we’re talking about CSPAN.

Particularly, Sen. John Kyl, who cut loose a major whopper on the Senate floor (so it is in the public record) with his claim that abortions represent “over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does.” Truth is, they comprise about 3% of that organizations’ business. But what’s an 87% error when your a pathological liar anyway?

Things only got worse from there as his staff – forgetting the first rule of holes – added insult to injury by issuing a statement that the Senator’s statement was not intended to be factual. Oops – our bad. Why in the world would we assume that a US Senate – speaking on the Senate floor as part of the Public Record – would be making true statements? This is 1984, er, I mean 2011 – we should assume they’re all just making stuff up to gain political points, right?

Can you imagine how the Neocons would’ve hammered Bill Clinton if he had claimed that 90% of the business of the NRA was giving free guns to school kids for good grades? Then if his press secr3etary had said, in essense – so what? The President never meant to make a factual statement . . .c’mon!
