I know now is not a good time...but how exactly would I get an IT job in Sac?

I am simply looking for a new job, as my current digs are in the process of getting rid of me

And I want what the State IT workers had: a department willing to take an investment in them in the long term

I don't know what county Sacramento is in, but there are some, at quick search, computer related jobs under open, non-promotional. A lot of actuarial stuff - don't know how that fits your interests.
