There has been a shift in the force. I felt it last night.
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 02:52 AM by Devil_Fish
I have been working 12hr. shifts all week. as I got home at 3am, the sky seemed clearer then it has ever been. there was no wind at all, and the moon, though not full, seemed very bright. I'm not sure why but it all gave me pause and something seemed different. As I passed over a bridge I looked down into the water and I noticed a 3 foot leopard shark cruising around.

Over the last year, my family has been involved in litigation, and the case just broke wide open this week. This week I have decided to go back to school to get a B.S. My two year old daughter told me she loves me. And to top it all off is this story: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x4814826 about the 'State Investigating Vote Irregularities in Waukesha County Going Back 5 Years'

What a breath of fresh air after being smothered by Black Box Voting. I feel like a piece of me died in 2004. The piece of me that believed that my vote matters. I have to admit that back then when I realized that they don't even count the votes, I went a little nuts. I then became really distraught. I wouldn't vote again till 2008 (By mail). I still don't know if any of the votes are really counted, but the occurrences this week have given me hope, and like I said, I don't know what it is, but every thing just feels different.

Goddess knows we have had enough disaster lately. Lets hope this feeling is real.

7. Thanks, I'm very fortunate that it did not take longer
I'll be making a little less, but outside of that it's a dream job for me In an industry that I love. In a way it feels like I'm in a better place.

5. The ILLUSION has been shattered.
That illusion is that we have to be ruled over by morally deprived agents of greed. We are all part of something bigger, and when We The People remember that something, the enemies of the people don't stand a chance. Its as simple as choosing to no longer get caught up in the details and see, for once in our lives, the truly big picture.

10. My favorite Howard Zinn quote: To Be Hopeful...
To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places — and there are so many — where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.

~ Howard Zinn

11. Lovely thread....

to bring it back to the political: I was incredibly heartened by what I heard in Obama's deficit speech this week. I heard an articulation of true progressive values, such as we don't usually hear from politicians on the national stage (raise taxes on the wealthy? blasphemy!).

The Obama team has clearly made the calculation that this is the meme, the mantra to go into 2012 with. I do believe it is genuine for him - reflects his true values, and better almost than that - he and his team see it as the desire of the majority of the electorate. This kind, caring, we-are-all connected vision.

I heartily recommend watching the 44 minute speech. It will support your feeling of a positive change in the winds...

That always renews hope. We will endure and we will prevail.

He was the youngest of my six. His name is Bonobo and he was the apple of everyone's eye.

I felt the shift. Nothing will ever be the same.
