Foes of (Ohio) SB 5 complete first step for ballot challenge
With the official OK of Ohio's secretary of state and attorney general, the next stop for the coalition seeking to repeal Senate Bill 5 is June30.

That's the deadline to gather signatures to place a referendum on the November ballot.

Ten thousand people already are ready to circulate the petition, said Dennis Willard, spokesman for We Are Ohio, the collection of Democrats and organized labor opposed to Senate Bill 5. The measure, which Gov. John Kasich signed March31, weakens collective-bargaining power for the state's public employees.
