Want A Budget That Produces A Surplus By 2021 Without Cutting Services For The Poor/Middle-Class ???

Reps. Maxine Waters, Mazie Hirono (podium) and Raul Grijalva introducing
The People's Budget at the Capitol today

It's a budget that produces a surplus by 2021 without cutting services for the poor and middle-class. It thus provides a stark contrast with the recent proposal by Rep. Paul Ryan, and a left-flank to the principles outlined by President Obama.

Here's a general overview of The People's Budget:

Reduces unemployment—and thus the deficit—through extensive investment in infrastructure, clean energy, transportation and education;

Ends almost all the Bush tax cuts, creates new tax brackets for millionaires and new fees on Wall Street;

Full American military withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, along with other reductions in military spending;

Ends subsidies for non-renewable energy;

Lowers health care costs through a public option and negotiating Rx payments with pharmaceutical companies;

Raises the taxable maximum on Social Security.

1. NOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOO OOO!
I can't stand it when people bring actual thinking and real information to any debate!

This would work perfectly (thanks to the wonderful work compiling it), and that is why our bought and paid for politicritters will not spend ten seconds considering it.

Isn't there some chance that a rather large asteroid could hit the approximate area of all our politicos in session, forcing us to replace them all at one sweep? I mean, it's not a zero event, right? If that happened, then I think we could get this wonderful plan through.

God, wouldn't it be great to live in a country where those in charge had heart, brains, and nerve?

10. The problem of course is that it's right, that it would work. That's not supposed to happen.
The ruling class is waging class war. The idea is to impoverish and render powerless the bulk of the people and further concentrate wealth in the hands of the fewest.

5. Yes.
I was sad that so many Democratic legislators voted against it.

Were they doing that in order to demonstrate loyalty to our president?

18. If you support things like this you are told you aren't a real democrat
by the ardent Obama supporters who insist that we're required to love everything Obama does.

You're just far left fringe. The far left is so marginal, and such lunatics that we don't count. We never have any good ideas, after all. :eyes:

Except that these are excellent ideas. There just isn't any chance in hell that Obama will support or try to implement them. :(
