Help me out - the bailout vote and the debt ceiling vote are kinda the same |
|
I hope everyone is having a good weekend
OP Millionaires needed the TARP bailout badly - and they were too big to fail. If they failed, they would put the hurt on the rest of us. TARP was good for us all and no debate or compromise was needed.
Now it is the debt. We either need to raise the debt ceiling or some terrible (I'm not sure what would happen - do any of you?) will seriously effect us all. Raising the debt ceiling is good for us all - no debate or compromise is needed.
Since millionaires will feel the pain too if the debt ceiling isn't raised, shouldn't the dems demand a simple, clean debt extension bill with no riders?

can't help you out here. I agree TARP and raising the debt ceiling are the same. Both are great for the VERY rich. They keep the status quo alive and keep the $$ flowing in their direction.
But I think both are *DISASTROUS* for the poor.
Why?
Both are terribly inflationary . This is the worst nightmare for people who are living on or close to the edge.
