Sunday Talk Shows
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 07:56 PM by cal04
NBC's ''Meet the Press''- Timothy Geithner, Gov. Deval Patrick
Fmr. chairman of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan; Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Fmr. Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D-MI); author Jon Meacham; and author of the new book "Fail Up," PBSs Tavis Smiley.

For this week's edition of the mid-week PRESS Pass, David sat down with Gov. Deval Patrick (D-MA). Patrick told David that he respects Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor and potential 2012 presidential candidate, but Romney wasn't serious as an executive. Despite Romney's instrumental role in creating Massachusetts' health care system, Patrick's going to "back the other guy" in 2012.

Patrick also insists that Democrats don't want as massive a government as the right implies, but that his party views government's role as simply helping people help themselves. Patrick thinks this ideological question will play a big role in the 2012 presidential race.

CBS' ''Face the Nation'' Paul Ryan, Mark Warner
Following House passage of his budget blueprint, Chairman of the House Budget Committee to sit down with Virginia Democrat

ABC "This Week"-Timothy Geithner, Reps. Joe Walsh (R-Ill), Steve Southerland (R-Fl), Renee Ellmers (R-NC) andAllen West (R-Fl) come to "This Week" to debate that and the looming debt crisis. Will they vote to stop raising the debt limit and are they prepared for the potential fallout? And as Donald Trump courts Tea Party support as he weighs a bid for the GOP presidential nomination, do they think he can win?

Then, our powerhouse roundtable with George Will, economist Alice Rivlin of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, political strategist Matthew Dowd and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick debate the competing budget plans. Will tax increases be necessary? Can Medicare and Social Security survive? And will massive cuts stall the economic recovery?

CNN's ''State of the Union''- Rep. Anthony Weiner and Sen. Rand Paul will join us exclusively.

We'll pivot to foreign affairs and examine the status of U.S. and NATO efforts in Libya as the violence continues and no endgame is in view. Former CIA Director, Gen. Michael Hayden (Ret.) will join us.

Then, will the driving public pay at the pump for the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East? We'll ask the former president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister.

And finally, the conclusion of our interview with Donald Trump. He says he's weighing a bid for the White House, but what would a Trump presidency mean for America? We went in-depth with the billionaire real estate mogul.

''Fox News Sunday''- . Tom Coburn and Rep. Chris Van Hollen
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood talks air safety in the wake of the resignation of the Federal Aviation Administrations chief air traffic controller after several controllers were found sleeping on the job.

GPS with Fareed Zakaria:- This week President Obama laid out his vision for how to fix Americas fiscal problems. Fareed called it "an intelligent, important speech with one major failing. In Fareeds Take, he'll explore where Obama's vision falls short.

Then an exclusive interview with the woman Fortune has called the most powerful women in business for the last five years running. PepsiCOs CEO Indra Nooyi sits down with Fareed to discuss Americas economic future, Washington politics, PepsiCos move towards healthier foods, and women in the workforce.

And just What in the World has the United States and China accusing one another of human rights abuses?

Then, did you ever wonder why Moammar Gadhafi still enjoys the support of many of Africas leaders? The New York Times East Africa bureau chief Jeffrey Gettleman offers fascinating insight into that question. (See Gettleman and Fareed discuss South Sudan in this web exclusive.)

Next, we look at the view from overseas. Lord Malloch Brown, the former deputy secretary-general of the United Nations and former British Minister of State, explains why Obama is viewed as follower and not a leader (read Brown discuss the future of multilateralism here)and much more.

Finally, a last listen for global voices that will soon be harder to hear.

5. Thanks. ABC's "This Weak" has four Republicans plus Tim Geithner.
Which pretty much makes five Republicans.
