It is a right-wing strategy to define whatever position they hold as "center".
So that they have a means to label their opposition as "extremist".

That is all there is to it.

The "center" is, per definition, the "mainstream", i.e. that which "most people agree with". Who ever can claim the center can say they have the majority of people behind them.

Really no different than when the communists in Russia called themselves "The Bolsheviks", which means translated "the majority". That is the ironic part of it.

1. During Reagan's time the media covered extreme RW nuts and silenced LW nuts.
This gave the public the impression that right of center was itself center.

4. I dont think they care even if the majority is left of their positions..
In fact, losing "their America" is what they are most concerned about. They know the demographics are against them. Over time this country will become more diverse, more liberal and vote more Democratic. The only way they can keep control is by manipulating the truth and fooling people into thinking Democrats are destroying the country.

5. I love it when they refer to "leftists".
The people they are referring to are invariably in the center or a bit right of center, but when you are as far to the right as they are, everyone else looks like a "leftist".

I wish these idiots could be shown what REAL "leftists" are.

6. And Democrats in Congress have permitted them to get away
with it.

Any one who knows anything about politics understands
Ryan has gone for right. He is over so far on the right
that if Obama is in the Center, Ryan cannot hear him.

Many of us have been screaming about this for years.
The Right moved the Center into GOP Playing Field.

This is why the Right Track Wrong Track Poll means
or sounds confused. The People are confused.

Right track WT Poll when it comes it wrong track.
here is what it means. People want jobs. Wall St
is doing handsomely and they are not being asked to
sacrifice. We bailed them out and there is no thank you.

Here in Ohio and I am sure it is same else where. We
have layoff of Teachers, Policeman Firefighters.
A story this week featured a firefigher who now works
in a Pizza Shop. This is the best job he could find.

Wrong track means America is still hurting. Stupid question
to be asking, when the Ryan Budget is going to lay off
many more workers.

8. It is. I first noticed this on a political board..........
I posted on before this one. It was mixed, but mostly RWers of more or less rabid stripe. That board is why I can ALWAYS tell from posts who is either RW or swallowing and regurgitating RW talking points. I dealt with it for 5+ years, so I know. And yes this IS what they do.
