Rep. Kucinich says 'Obama Libya war violates US constitution'
He's out of line, though. We're all supposed to hold our outrage until the next time a Republican takes office and violates the Constitution. Video at the link.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) says U.S. President Barack Obama has acted against the country’s Constitution by authorizing a military attack without congressional approval.

Kucinich said "The American people should understand that our Constitution does not provide for the president to wage war any times he pleases”, Kucinich told the Real News Network on April 15, 2011.

Earlier, in an exclusive interview with Raw Story on March 21, 2011, Kucinich said "President Obama moved forward without Congress approving. He didn't have Congressional authorization, he has gone against the Constitution, and that's got to be said."

He said "It's not even disputable, this isn't even a close question. Such an action -- that involves putting America's service men and women into harm's way, whether they're in the Air Force or the Navy -- is a grave decision that cannot be made by the president alone."

1. The trick is to engage in military actions without qualifying it as "war".
That's how this country has conducted its "defense" since WWII.

Hope: The Republic is not lost

Fear: it is

Reality: The interest in this post. More are concerned with the Palin Conspiracy Theory

Future: Cloudy, Storm Front approaching...

4. I support the UN action in Libya but Obama should get Congress' approval for US participation in it.
Both sides would get to make their case. The UN's sanctioning of the intervention and its use of R2P (now and in the future) could be aired in public and accepted or rejected. It would be a good opportunity both sides to educate the public, instead of the president doing things unilaterally and trying to protect the powers that past presidents have accumulated.

5. Dennis is such a disappointment
All talk....never leadership. He never processes or negotiates to accomplish progressive issues. He is a fingerpointer..a town- crier type.
