Voice of AmericaNATO says eight of its service members died in attacks in Afghanistan Saturday, making it one of the deadliest days for NATO troops this year.
The international coalition said Sunday three of its troops died in bomb explosions in the south.
Earlier, the coalition said five of its service members died when a suicide bomber disguised in an Afghan army uniform attacked an eastern army base in eastern Laghman province, near Jalalabad. Four Afghan soldiers were also killed in the blast.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which wounded eight people.
