Billionaire Donald Trump is objecting to plans to build a cats' and dogs' home near his Aberdeenshire golf resort - because he fears the noise would put off golf tourists.

Lawyers acting for the American tycoon have lodged an objection with Aberdeenshire Council against a proposed kennels and cattery at Menie Cottage in Aberdeenshire.

They say a noise impact assessment should be carried out to assess the impact of the dogs and cats on Trump's championship golf course and holiday complex.

The controversial £750m project on the Menie Estate at Balmedie includes a 450-room hotel, 950 holiday apartments and 500 residential homes.

Part of it is on a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and there are rumours they will use Compulsory Purchase orders to force out people who don't want to sell to Trump. The Scottish government sold out to Trump on this.
