The Waterfront Restaurant is pleased to announce that this tax year it has paid more in U.S. taxes then General Electric.

We are absolutly delighted to be successful enough to be able to contribute to the United States defense and welfare and understand how in this difficult times a company like General Electric could be unable to contribute.

The Waterfront, serving meals, employing locals, using the local bank and paying our fair share for over 32 years.

I need to crow about the $5100.00 the wife and I just paid to keep hope alive for GE and other struggling giants of American industry! My fervrent hopes are that our minor ante can help put another American kid up as a shrapnel magnet in one of our trio of wars. His fate could spur the sales of another GE medical diagnostics machine and further guarantee jobs for GE's employees! It feels GOOD to be an essential cog in the greatest nation on earth. :sarcasm:

that forces business to be good corporate citizens.

How could they cheat, sell us unsafe products, treat workers unfairly and skip out on taxes if they are good corporate citizens?

I guess being a good corporate citizen is just no longer the American way. Like equal justice, it is a quaint idea -a thing of the past.

as my facebook status. My tiny business paid more taxes than GE. Of course, I think it is because I do not make enough money to pay no taxes. That kind of accountant does not come cheap, and likely costs alot more than Quickbooks and Turbotax....
