Odd drug commercials
A woman is taking the drug zyrtec in order to date a guy who has a dog. That seems incredibly weird to me. Do people really do that?

1. I know people who are allergic to animals & still have pets
and take allergy meds instead of getting rid of the pets..

We are lucky ..pets no allergies..As averse to pills as I am, I would take meds rather than eject the kitties:)

2. That's an incredible sacrifice
And doesn't sound sustainable in the long run.

7. good luck with washing cats
I had no problems with bathing our dog. But the cats? I'd rather stick a hot fork in my eye -- infinitely safer!

13. you've got to have started doing that early in kitty's life
And I know I should have done it with Dude, but didn't. He's a turkish angora and he'd rather kill someone than get wet. He keeps himself very very clean - but would not tolerate being bathed.

14. If I tried that with my calico, I would have nothing but bloody stumps
at both shoulders.

6. sure it's *sustainable* -- do you have pets?
I've had asthma and allergies all my life - I've also had critters all my life. They add so much, I'd rather deal with sniffles than get rid of them.

12. All too often pets end up in shelters because humans must form their monogamous social bonds

15. I'm mildly allergic to pollen (and dust) and I garden
Sometimes I remember to take my OTC antihistamines, other times I just sneeze a lot.

I have cats and friends who are allergic to cat dander: I vacuum before they come over, and take the anti-cat clothes off the furniture, but they still end up sneezing. One of them even has a cat - he keeps it outside, and covers himself with a special towel that he doesn't bring into the house when he pets it.

Oh, and remember the main purpose of the drug ads is to convince you you need to take their drugs and lots of them whether you can get by without them or not.
