Democrats hit a proposed Republican deficit plan Monday in Orlando with help from a heavy hitter.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, joined Congresswoman Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, and Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, to talk about proposed Medicare changes under the GOP plan proposed by Congressman Paul Ryan, R-WI, who chairs the House Budget Committee.

"They're voting to end Medicare as we know it," Pelosi said. "While they give big subsidies to big oil. Tens of billions of dollars to big oil while asking seniors to pay $6,000 or more than they do now. How could that be right?"

Ryan's budget plan would cut $6.2 trillion in government spending over the next decade, and change Medicare so that people over the age of 55 would get special payments to help them buy private insurance on a new Medicare exchange.

U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, joined by Florida congresswomen Rep. Corrine Brown and Rep. Kathy Castor, criticized the controversial overhaul of Medicare proposed by House Republicans, during a town hall meeting and press conference, Monday, in Orlando. Pelosi delivered remarks and took a few questions from reporters at the event, before a small crowd of seniors, at the Claudia Allen Senior Center.

1. sigh
I know she is a Hero to some, but frankly, Pelosi represents the Democratic congress whose uselessness was sadly exposed in the Obama presidency.

2. If you can do better than Nancy Pelosi
go for it.

In the meantime, Pelosi is a hero of mine.
