Without unions, the American way of life would be more difficult
I am responding to the "Union gravy train has left the station" letter of April 3.

I would like to answer your questions about Brad Strong. The rally was at 5 p.m., and I know of no schools in our area that are in class at 5 p.m. And I believe his personal days are his business, as yours are your business.

Addressing the closing of local factories: I am a retiree of the Mansfield General Motors plant. I never went to work with a "radical mindset." You are labeling union workers for no good reason. For the 30 years I worked at GM, I saw those "radical people," as you like to call us, donate their free time to help this community: Care & Share, holiday gift baskets, food drives, blood drives, etc.

Ask the United Way how much money they lost when the foreign companies bought out the steel mill, or about the loss of money when GM closed.

3. here's the real question one should ask anti union folks....
how much are you willing to work for? because i just watched 'walmart: high cost of low prices" where they had sweat shops in china and honduras where people made 17cents an hour and worked a lot of hours. if you want to 'compete' you are going to have to be willing to work for 17 cents an hour. are you willing to work for that amount of money?
