Glenn Beck is booed by his fans for saying he's gone vegan
Edited on Mon Apr-18-11 06:47 PM by RamboLiberal
Is a vegan Glenn Beck that shocking? Apparently. Conservative and controversial radio and TV host was booed recently by fans, and for a moment he may have thought Charlie Sheen had walked into the room. But no, it was not Charlie Sheen. It was his fans' reaction to his "big" reveal on his "Glenn Beck Live On Stage!" speaking tour in Houston, TX, according to Ecorazzi."What was the big news? He's eating vegan.

Typically celebrities who publicly discuss veganism and the vegan diet do so because they are making a statement against animal cruelty. He's doing it for health reasons. While the agitator and talk show host usually leaves a bad taste in people's mouths with his rants and raves, this time he did it with one word: vegan.

-----

Since Beck's doing it for his health (and really, can you fault anyone even Glenn Beck for trying to find a diet that improves health?) he probably won't be avoiding other animal-derived foods like honey. He's probably not giving up leather shoes or his leather wallet anytime soon.

He's talking about foodies and how he is basically a vegan now. Blames it on George Soros. If you listen to the morning radio show, you know who that is.

The crowd booed at him for being a vegan for medical reasons, but cheered for shopping at Whole Foods?

No one else I know is hearing Glenn Beck talk about shitting but me right now. You all lose. His new diet has made his internal works "different."

Glenn Beck's poop is clear now, if what he just said is true.

The blog posted above is a fun read. Seems that Beck fans had to come in without their guns.

Beck in 2009.

On Tuesday, in more bizarre, nonsensical ranting that has become Glenn Beck's M.O., the Fox News anchor jumped on a story about the UK climate chief stating that not eating meat was better for the planet.

Beck proceeds to interpret this as though he'll somehow be personally forced to stop eating meat. He then becomes horrified about the "indoctrination" of school children in Baltimore, which has instituted a Meatless Monday lunch program. The "controversy" of serving vegetarian food in schools has also been described by Lou Dobbs as a "political storm in the making".

24. Hitler wasn't an atheist. He actually self-identified as a Christian. link:
Myth 1: Hitler was not a Christian.

Myth 2: Hitler pretended his Christianity only for political purposes.

snip>

What obliterates this theory comes from the fact that Hitler continued to express his "positive" Christian views, well after his rise to power. If, indeed, he needed Christianity only for political purposes, then why-oh-why does he continue with the charade after he has established himself as absolute dictator?

4. Vegan's tend to be more liberal
in their views so if Glen Beck is a vegan...well that's just weird.

13. What are vegan philosophies? I've only been aware of the animal cruelty
beliefs that are,of course,true.

What else is there?

16. Ethical vegans do not believe in using or exploiting animals for any reason.
It goes way beyond animal cruelty -- it's animal rights, specifically the right to a life that isn't shaped and constrained in order to provide for humans at the expense of the animal. No leather, no honey, etc.

18. Thanks. I didn't know about the honey,or milk I assume. I suppose
this would also include wool, horsehair, and other things like that.

I'll have to do a little research on this.

Thanks for your help.

22. Yes, anything that results from viewing the animal as a commodity for humans.
Beck on the other hand is suggesting that he's become a dietary vegan.

11. Many people are very threatened by other people's decision to not eat meat.
I found this to be a really interesting phenomenon when I was vegan. People fucking freak.

15. If Glenn Beck is a vegan then he probably doesn't know what it means.
And he'll stop being one as soon as somebody tells him.

21. I wonder if Beck eats Mormon brand products.

My best friend in High School was mormon and his mom was your stereotypical "church lady". Apparently the LDS churches have commisaries where you can go buy Mormon brand products. Canned goods, frozen foods, cleaning products, etc. She would always stock the kitchen with as much Mormon brand products as possible. Gotta support the church.

I can't tell you how many times we came home stoned and his mom had fixed a whole Mormon-brand cornucopia for dinner. She'd always let us use the car as long as we'd run some sort of church-related errand like taking dinner to the missionaries.
