Their influence is waning as is evident by the GOP's willingness to compromise on the 2011 budget. I suspect we will see more compromise on the debt ceiling and the 2012 budget. TP activism/extremism, which helped them in the elections last year is now becoming a liability.

Wisconsin and Ohio were the last straws for the people. If it is to continue, its still up to the people as national party Democrats haven't picked up the cue yet.
