1. Story's already almost a week old...
...no need to keep reposting links to the photo.

2. Sorry. This is the first time I've seen it. I've been avoiding the news.

4. This shit really pisses me off.
I realize that's pretty much the normal reaction, especially around here. The thing is, I'm not really a fan of the President, but it's because of policy and not anything personal. I'm sure I'll still vote to reelect him.

My mother sent me some video clip by email a few weeks ago featuring Pat Buchanan with the added remark that if I had been born Black instead of Anglo then maybe I might have gone to Harvard like Obama. I did not watch the video since Buchanan is little more than a Klansman without the hood, but I still gave my mother an irritated response. I told her that even if Obama had some affirmative action help getting into that school (and I do not know if he did) it still would not diminish his academic acheivements. I went on to say that if I had been born Black like she suggested, circumstances would have been such that I may have ended up illiterate, dead or in prison.

5. Buchanan has been a lifelong fan of Hitler.
The best line regarding his speech at the 1992 Republican convention was Molly Ivins' quip that "It sounded better in the original German."
