The next step in WI--Special elections to fill 3 vacancies
left by Walker appointments to the Cabinet from the Assembly. These are good places to make a financial or volunteer contribution.

Following is a letter from Dave Obey:

Dave Obey

Dear Jackpine,

Special elections for Congress and the Legislature often predict the way the wind will blow in the next regular election. This year is no different, and with all that is happening in Madison, now is the time to support Steve Doyle for State Assembly.

Steve is running in the seat formerly held by Mike Huebsch. You may remember Huebsch as the Wisconsin Secretary of Administration who blocked so many taxpaying citizens from being inside our Capitol. I was one of many who couldn't get inside and past these strong-armed tactics.

Please send a message to Governor Walker by contributing $250, $100, $50, $25, or whatever you can afford today to Steve Doyle.

But don't support Steve just because you don't like Governor Walker. He's also a lifetime La Crosse County resident, committed husband and father, educator, published author, and small business owner.

For 25 years, he's served citizens as a member of the County Board and for the last decade has served as its Chair. His wealth of experience will make a real impact in our State Capitol, and he'll fight for jobs, lower taxes for the middle class, and quality services from our government.

If you agree with me that we need someone who will fight for the middle class, please contribute to Steve Doyle today.

Perhaps most importantly, Steve's record shows that he will work with people who have different viewpoints. Have we ever needed that more than now?

Sincerely,

Dave Obey

1. All to be stolen by suddenly-found votes that Nate Silver believes in

2. That special election here in La Crosse is just 2 weeks away.

Let's hope it is important enough for Democrats to show up and vote and not have to be poked and prodded to do what they should be eager to do. The good news here is that the Supreme Court election had a 40% turnout which beat the state average of 33% and the vote was 59% for Kloppenburg.

I've lived here for over 50 years and I'm not paranoid about the elections in La Crosse, I'm sure everything will go fine as it does here. Waukesha be damned.
