Letter to the Kloppenburg campaign
I very much hope the Kloppenburg campaign decides to request a recount of the entire state. In the interest of maximum transparency, the recount should be accomplished by an actual hand counting of the paper ballots rather than relying on any electronic devices to do the tabulation. There is widespread (and apparently justifiable) skepticism regarding the degree to which unscrupulous partisan agents may manipulate numbers derived from unverified machine processes. If necessary, I believe many of us would be willing to make financial contributions to accomplish this goal.

If Prosser won the election, so be it--but for many, there will always be suspicions about what happened if we do not look into this matter now. I even have conservative acquaintances who disbelieve in the legitimacy of the outcome. Let us do everything we can to ascertain what the actual results were, and lay these suspicions to rest as best possible via a full-scale recount and inquiry into whatever irregularities may be discovered.

5. here is mine:
PLEASE RECOUNT! Election integrity is the bedrock of any democracy. If citizens don't trust their votes will actually count they lose faith in their government. The REPEATED shenanigans that the highly partisan Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus demonstrated, whether due to epic incompetence or malfeasance needs to be fully investigated. It hurts no one to recount but strengthens our trust in elections and those who run for office.

7. Here's mine....
Dear Judge Kloppenburg,

As a Wisconsin citizen who has long been concerned about the fairness of elections in this Nation and State, I was particularly disappointed in the way the recent Supreme Court election was run, and, of course, by your narrow loss.

For two reasons, I respectfully request that you demand a full hand recount of every ballot in Wisconsin.

1. To ensure that we had a "clean" election. This is not a negotiable; without fair elections our democracy is doomed.

2. To determine if you were the legitimate winner of this election. If so, it is essential that you be declared so, and take your place on our State Supreme Court.

Sincerely,

Scuba

9. As I understand it, there is no provision in WI law for a hand count
of paper ballots--only electronic re-tabluation.
