Sickening!

Leona Helmsley was right: only the little people pay taxes.

3. And here you will find Rush's argument against targeting the rich.
There aren't that many of them --

4. you know, the other day I heard that right wing windbag Cal Thomas
blathering on about how "50% of Americans don't pay any taxes" or whatever the statistic is, and arguing that instead of getting rid of the tax breaks for the rich, we need to get these tax shirkers to start paying their share. It struck me as really odd--I thought Republicans didn't want anyone to pay taxes?

Furthermore, I'm guessing a lot of the people in that non-tax-paying category are there because they hardly make any goddamn money, or they are retired, or some such similar circumstance. I don't know...it strikes me as a completely spurious statistic. I don't see how anyone can look objectively at our situation and say that we need to give the rich even more tax cuts, and squeeze the disadvantaged even more than we already do, while simultaneously (I would assume) cutting social services. It makes no sense...unless you're one of the robber barons, in which case it must sound just peachy.

5. The Republicans have named it ownership society.
Evn the poorest must be bled, so they will feel a part ofthe system. They are bastardizing the term inclusive.

6. Do you have a link? Is it 70% of filers or 70% of those who actually paid?

9. Says *All Taxpayers* Link below:
1. Get Ready > 2nd Bullet:

Determine your AGI.
Check your last year's tax return for a quick estimate of your adjusted gross income (AGI). Did you know that approximately 70% of all taxpayers have an AGI of $58,000 or less?

10. Only 15% make more than 100k a year.
I remember the first time I heard this. To be honest I couldn't believe that it was such a low percentage.
