Look at who they're talking about running for president: Donald Trump. That would be funny if it wasn't serious. I mean, it should be a joke to the whole country, but they are really serious. The other serious contenders are Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Michele Bachman, and gawd only knows which other crackpot they can come up with.

The thing is, the republican establishment doesn't really think it's serious. They saw Dubya run this country into the ground for 8 years, and it worked just fine for them. It just shows that they all know that the president doesn't have any power anyway, and the jokers they're running for president are going to be pawns to the corporations, anyway. They already KNOW it. They don't try to continue to push the meme that the presidency means shit.

Look at Obama. He sure snapped into line when he found out who was the boss, and it sure as hell wasn't him! Whichever nut the repukes run will do the same. Georgie just managed to stay drunk and drugged so he didn't have to worry about it. He let Cheney, Rummy, KKKarl and crew do their thing. Obama is letting Goldman Sachs, Bank of A, Gates, Geitner, Summers, etc. do like they were going to do anyway. He doesn't have a damned thing to say about it. Look at the Dept. of Justice and Eric Holder. What a fucking joke; what a fucking patsy. And Obama was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review, for crissake.

The republicans are just driving home what the real problems are....the difference is, THEY think it's fun. The rest of us are scared shitless.

1. I think Trump is a better candidate than 'W' was...
He's smarter, savvier, richer, more eloquent, and more reasonable.

If he had the BFEE behind him, he'd be a shoo-in for POTUS.

2. In this environment, I think you're right. Because the next election will be
24/7 corporate run advertising/propaganda. The BFEE won't be behind anyone but Jeb, however, which is what I think has Rove cutting down all the other candidates.

4. Really? You have any idea how rich the BFEE is? Inestimable.
Honestly, if I didn't know better, I'd think Trump was working on the sly for the DNC.

3. I've said the same a time or two myself. It's clear to me that
republicans know that the president doesn't actually run anything and that's why they don't care about the brains of their candidates, only the policy positions they spout off about.

On the other hand, we over here in our camp, are so excited about having a president, that we act like he should just snap his fingers and get everything we want done.

I agree with you. Ultimately the same people fund both sides and what we get is a dog and pony show.

5. wait, they're serious about that? I just assumed somebody was making a joke
If they want to win, they should probably just go with Obama.

6. Perhaps we should wait until someone actully has the spine to run
As far as I know no one has declared yet, they are all just sucking up money so they can travel on someone else's dime right now.

'Oooo, look at me, I might run for president, hear how I can make stupid remarks and everyone just faints away from the sheer intelligence'

8. Actually, the Republicans are feeling quite desperate
at this point, because they have no viable candidate. Oh, someone will get the nomination, and someone will run, but I'm thinking the re-election of Obama is as close to a slam-dunk as any can be.
