You think the Tea Party is bad... this group makes them look like girl scouts at church

If you all don't know about the BNP here is an article in the Guardian. Hate for cops, Muslims, gays, foreigners...everything the Tea Party talks about but on steroids. (last election they had almost 700 candidates running for election!!!!)

A snippet: * One candidate urges his followers to "Stamp out diseases today. Spray pakis and poofs with hydrochloric acid"

* Another candidate posting about his arrest for "an out of date bus ticket", says: "They have just made me hate them even more. From now on I will be celebrating the death of serving police officers when they are announced on the news. May sound a bit extreme but I hate them that much." He also posted that Labour's newly elected MP for Barnsley Central, Dan Jarvis, a former officer in the Parachute Regiment, "should have been shot from behind while facing the enemy".

I wonder how much support they got from Rupert Murdoch's right wing papers?

Lovely people. They cut their stay short, IIRC...assault charges were in the offing.

Don't care for anything about them, with their bovver boots and nasty attitudes.

4. We're almost there

We're told Republicans are scared of facing TP candidates in primaries and that is why they do the TP's bidding. The actual rallies have been so small, the polls show strong support for more liberal positions, and yet the TP is invited to every Sunday morning show and for God's sake every network's discussions. They are treated gently by all. Can we stop this insanity before the hard-core crazies hit the mainstream, as in the UK?

5. The hard-core crazies are part of the background in the UK....

for the simple reason that they are more open about their bigotry and often see nothing wrong with it. It's a legacy of empire, and it is part of the lower-class attitude.

However, it's not exactly mainstream.

6. Agreed...but I was shocked they fielded 700-ish candidates. I liked the article because it shows

the group is shrinking and losing supporters.

Similar to here with the tea party supporters.

7. dangit..i read an article today that compared last year's tea party rallies to this years

it looked like 10%- 20% of the people this time around!
