Just a quick thanks to my friends here at DU

[The Straight Story]

Last week was crazy for me - well the last month plus has been but last week was really crazy.

My X's husband was in ICU, I spent the week at her house helping out, driving her to the hospital, taking care of the dog, cats, fish - and of course my daughter. Things were up and down.

I won't go into details but it was a tough week, and this week is a little messed up but getting better.

Her husband though is home but will require two surgeries, etc.

Wanted to thank all for their well wishes. I have been in and out briefly, still have some messages to catch up on, but have a few more things I need to deal with before I can spend more time relaxing and posting (ie, if I don't reply - or seem to write and run - don't take it personal, things hit the fan in many ways so I am sorry if I have not gotten back to someone on a thread/message).

I am home now but have issues to tend to here now. I REALLY appreciate the kind words of so many here. I have some Dr. appts of my own now to tend to, and my sis-in-law is heading back to hospital soon for more surgeries (just got word on that about 20 min ago).

DU'ers have let me rant and DU has given me a place to just let go and talk without all of the emotional family trappings and such. It really --- and I mean really -- helps sometimes to just 'talk' (or type) and let things out.

Got more I want to/need to say for my own sake (again, writing helps me to personally deal with things) but I have things I have to go and do. Forgive me if I check out a bit and come back and rant here and there.

Hope things continue to settle down for you and that Easter weekend gives you a little time to catch your breath and just hang out and take it easy.

It's been pretty hectic around here - house full of busy 19- and 20-year-olds in and around the band. They'll be gone to Arizona (moved to Caledonia! ;D ) maybe as early as tomorrow night for a gig on Friday, so we will be able to relax and have a quiet house for a few days.
