Watch a "straight Democratic vote" go to McCain.

2. You still hawking that Bo Lipari/NYVV BS about "a paper trail if there's a problem"?
Edited on Tue Apr-19-11 07:42 PM by Wilms
There was a HUGE problem with the Liparista urged optical scanner in YOUR state's recent SD7 race.

Yeah there was paper. And it WASN'T adequately counted despite the fact that even the BS spot check revealed SERIOUS trouble. Why? Because, AS HAS BEEN EXPLAINED TO YOU, the recount laws are inadequate.

So the case of this RAZOR THIN race went to court. Yep. To COURT (see: Gore vs. Bush 2000) to beg for recount since "there's a problem". And the JUDGES DECIDED to let the suspect tally stand. As a result, the New York State Senate control was turned over to the republicans.

You've had the potential disaster explained to you over and over again, and now it's come to pass in the VERY first state-wide use of the Bo Lipari/NYVV darling. Yet you still post this mis-leading and flat-out erroneous info.

What's up with that?

3. I think you're thinking of someone else.
I've never posted about the NYS Senate race.

5. Of course you didn't post about the SD7 race.
Neither did Lipari slink out from under his rock to say much about it until the case was nearly over. Common Cause had to step in and sound the alarm. Where was NYVV.

You have consistently pushed NYVV half-baked claims about "a paper trail if there's a problem", AND you've complained about the efforts to retain the levers.

Thanks in no small part to people who think like you do, the New York Senate is now under republican control. You all OWN it.

7. Actually, I'd put the blame on...
The Democratic Leadership's incompetence, it's overlooking of corruption among it's own members, and it's craven acquiescence to the "Gang of Four" who demanded high-ranking leadership roles in exchange for their support of the Leadership. Add to that the general disenchantment with Democrats in the 2010 election. But you're entitled to your own opinion.

8. What part of the voting system failure are you ignoring?
Apart from the dysfunctionality in Albany, that's endemic across the nation, there was "a problem" with the tally. You claim that under such circumstance the paper would be checked. It wasn't...your re-direction of the discussion notwithstanding.

You, and the Bo-Bots, own this.

6. Just because it spits out a piece of paper means nothing
That is not a legal verifiable paper trail amyway. In reality there is no paper trail.
That slip of paper does not necessarily agree with the internal totals, which is part of the problem.
